An abstract study exploring the soaring vertical form and geometry of the Burj Khalifa. Expressive black linework rises through overlapping fields of green, creating a fragmented composition that emphasises the height, density and dramatic upward movement of the tower.
Standing at 828 metres, the Burj Khalifa is the world's tallest building. Its distinctive triple-lobed form is based on an abstraction of the Hymenocallis flower, with a spiralling Y-shaped plan developed to support the tower's extraordinary height and reduce wind forces.
Part of The Drawing Archive, a collection of architectural drawings, observational studies and works gathered from sketchbooks and design projects.
Printed on heavyweight 200 gsm premium matte paper with a smooth, non-reflective finish, selected to preserve the layered green tones, expressive monoprint textures and fine architectural linework of the original artwork.
