A collection of studies exploring a collection ornamental detail through fragments of ironwork and classical architectural forms. Isolated from their wider surroundings, each element is examined through texture, shadow and material character, drawing attention to the craftsmanship often found within overlooked architectural details.
Layered mixed media, textured surfaces and fragments of printed material create a weathered backdrop, bringing the individual studies together as a single archival composition. A mix of charcoal, acrylic, ink and pen are used to bring these forms to life and stand off the weathered backdrop.
